Frequently Asked Questions
Are you taking new students? Yes! Schedule permitting
What do you charge? (as of 9/1/23) I charge $80 per hour, and pro-rate for the length of lesson a student wishes to take: $40 for 30 minutes, $60 for 45 minutes.
What style do you teach?
For guitar: I teach classical guitar. I firmly believe that my classical training gave me the ability to add the other styles quickly. I think it's important to have a strong foundation in music reading, rhythm and technique. When those are established, you will be able to play what you want.
For ukulele: I teach "fingerstyle" and focus on establishing good technical principles, rhythm and reading music. When students are advanced enough, I teach them how to do their own fingerstyle arrangements of traditional songs. We can do almost any style of music on ukulele!
